Lee Evans

Height: 5-10

Weight: 195

Date of Birth: 03-11-81

College: Wisconsin Badgers

College Details

Starting 38 of his 47 games while playing for Wisconsin, Evans set school records for career receptions, yards, and touchdowns. He also became the first player in Badger history to have over 1,000 yards receiving in a single year, achieving the mark in both 2001 and 2003. After tearing his ACL in 2002 Evans was awarded a medical red-shirt allowing him to come back and play for the team in 2003.

Yearly Pro Summary

2004: Starting 11 games as a rookie Lee put up very respectable numbers when he caught 48 passes for 843 yards and 9 touchdowns.

2005: An increase in playing time didn’t do much to help Lee’s numbers, in actuality his numbers were down all across the board in his sophomore season. Putting up the same number of catches (48) Lee saw his yardage drop by exactly 100 (743 yards) and his touchdowns drop by 2 (7 in 05).

2006: Lee heard the whispers that he wasn’t capable of being a #1 receiver in the NFL. He did his best to silence those critics by catching 82 passes for nearly 1,300 yards and 8 touchdowns.

Reputation

Evans is known league-wide for his blazing speed and sheer toughness. Showing no fear when coming across the middle to make a catch, Evans is probably the best receiver most have never heard of.

Outlook

J.P. Lossman showed great improvement last season which was evident in the increase in Evans’ overall numbers. The Bills will be counting on a rookie RB this season which may hurt the offense early in the year. Evans should still find a way to put up solid numbers but the lack of any other real offensive threat may hurt him in 07.
